Planning a long EV drive in India
Range anxiety is the biggest hesitation for EV owners taking intercity trips. The EV trip planner takes the guesswork out: tell us where you're starting, where you're headed, which electric vehicle you drive, and how much charge you have, and it maps the charging stations along your route so you always know where your next top-up is.
How to plan your route
Enter a starting point and destination — any city, town, or address in India works. Choose your EV to load its real range, set your current battery level, and the planner estimates whether you can make the trip on a single charge or where you'll need to stop. Each suggested stop shows connector types, estimated charging time, and an approximate cost.
Tips for a smooth electric road trip
Start with a full charge, plan to arrive at each fast charger with a 20% buffer, and prefer DC fast chargers (50 kW and above) on highways to keep stops short. Check connector compatibility for your vehicle before you leave, and have a backup station in mind near each planned stop in case one is busy or offline.
FAQ
Trip planner questions
How does the EV trip planner work?
Enter your starting point and destination, pick your EV model, and set your current battery level. We map the charging stations that fall along the corridor between the two points, estimate whether your range covers the trip, and suggest where to stop and charge.
Is the EV trip planner free?
Yes. The planner is completely free and needs no sign-up. Locations are resolved using OpenStreetMap, and charging stops come from our directory of charging stations across India.
How accurate are the distance and charging-time estimates?
Distances use straight-line (great-circle) calculations between your route points, so they are approximate rather than exact road distances. Charging times are estimates based on each station’s power rating and typical conditions; real-world charging depends on battery temperature, state of charge, and station load.
Which EVs are supported?
You can pick from the popular electric vehicles in our database, each with its own battery capacity and range. The planner uses your vehicle’s range to decide whether and where you need to charge.
Can I plan trips on highways and between cities?
Yes. The planner is built for intercity travel and surfaces charging stations along major corridors, so you can see where to top up on long-distance routes.
